Mission & Outreach

True to our vision of “Transforming lives by sharing God’s love and acceptance every day” Emmanuel is actively engaged in a number of mission and outreach activities within our community under the auspices of our own Mustard Seed Ministries.  

Emmanuel provides specific support to Tony’s Community Kitchen, Toowoomba Homeless Outreach Inc.
Australian Lutheran World Service and Harristown School Chaplaincy through acts of service and donations.

Tony’s Community Kitchen is a local charity made up of over 150 volunteers who donate their time to prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals 7 nights a week, 365 days a year to those in need in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs Region. 

Once a month members from Emmanuel Lutheran Fellowship provide a Sunday night BBQ dinner for the community supported by Tony’s Community Kitchen.

Toowoomba Homeless Outreach Inc. - Toowoomba Homeless Outreach Inc. is a team of volunteers that directly relieves poverty, distress and disadvantage by providing free meals, hygiene facilities and social support to people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

Australian Lutheran World Service - ALWS is the overseas aid and development agency of the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand.

Emmanuel Lutheran Fellowship supports the ALWS programs through active participation in key fund-raising events including Gifts of Grace, Walk My Way and FNQ Lutheran Ministries.

Harristown School Chaplaincy - Harristown State School is one of Toowoomba's oldest state primary schools and currently has an enrolment of more than 400 students. Harristown’s student population consists of many varied cultural groups with First Nations students making up approximately 34% of the student population and EAL/D students 10%.

The school has a Student Support Centre (SSC) which houses the Chaplain and Emmanuel Lutheran Fellowship provides support to the Chaplaincy program through donations to support students and families in need including through annual school stationary drives and Christmas hampers.
