A life following Jesus is referred to as a FIGHT or WARFARE in the Bible a number of times. Emmanuel’s men, lads and boys meet regularly to take up the fight of faith together; to encourage, support and mentor each other; to laugh, have fun, and bask in the glory of our Almighty God.
Emmanuel's women meet every second Monday at 10 am for a hands-on, craft-orientated meeting known as Scissors Sisters. Keep an eye on our coming events for details! Apart from this, Emmanuel sometimes runs an annual one day Women’s Retreat.
Our Children’s Ministry Program, is offered weekly during school terms to children aged 4 - 12. The children gather at 9:30am to hear Bible stories and engage in fun and creative activities. Children are very much a part of the worship life at Emmanuel, and on occasion a Children’s Address is included as part of the Sunday Service. Children are encouraged to enjoy and participate in the service with their families.
There is a strong youth ministry at Emmanuel. LYTE (Lutheran Youth of Toowoomba Experience) meets every second Friday night (during term) at St Paul's Lutheran Church Hall, Phillip Street, and is an opportunity for young people from years 5 - 12 to gather for worship, games, talent nights, and many more fun and interesting activities whilst forming lasting relationships with each other and with the youth leaders. Youth from all congregations in Toowoomba are welcomed to these nights.
We value the older (and wiser!) members of Emmanuel, and see them as having an integral part to play in our congregational life. Although they may be older in age, they are certainly very young at heart! Emmanuel’s more senior members meet once a month at varying locations, to share and connect with others their age.
